n. Pleasure derived from the misfortune of others
I was surfing the net this afternoon, and I made my way to the Review-Journal website, looking for the results in yesterday's primary elections.
Since I had a Republican ballot, I had no idea who was running for what on the other side of the aisle. But as I was perusing the results, I saw something mildly entertaining.
It seems that Democratic candidate and 'Vegas Legend' Bob Stupak came in fourth place in his bid to become the next Lieutenant Governor of the Great State of Nevada, right behind Bob Unger, Bob Goodman, and None Of These Candidates. It appears that the Democrat voters would rather have NOBODY as Lt. Governor than have this goof in office. And they are absolutely right.
What a farking tool.
Yes, it would seem that I might have an unreasonable dislike for Stupak, but only because I've seen the man in action, and compared to people like Jay Sarno or Steve Wynn, he's a complete poseur with no talent. His ideas don't add value or create greatness--he's just one of those casino owners looking to fleece as many people as possible. Granted, the main reason to go into business is to make a buck, and I have no problem with that, but just talking to the man--and I've met him in person--he just oozes more cheesy dishonesty than the worst used-car salesman you can possibly imagine.
Maybe I'm naive, but I expect politicians to serve me--and I can't imagine that Stupak being in public office would be anything more than a way for him to line his pockets.
Vegas Legend my ass. The man is a loser and always will be.
