Weekend Update

Howdy all!

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to post an update beyond that epic trip story of last weekend's poker adventures, but the truth is, I've just been massively busy ever since then--I really haven't had much free time at all.

I was up till the wee hours on Wednesday night finishing up all that writing, and then editing it a couple of times before finally heading to bed. On Thursday after work, I hooked up with my FWB* Kelly, and we went out for Chinese food, then spent the balance of the afternoon/evening doing naughty things to each other... I had to work again yesterday, and it was kind of a slow day, but then picked up a bit of momentum towards the end. As soon as I got home, I changed clothes and headed back downtown to play in another one of those Binion's Poker Open tournaments--I'll write more about that later this weekend when I get some free time.

I was supposed to be off today, well, On Call actually, and instead of wasting the day posting stuff on the internet and watching college football, my phone rang a few minutes ago and they need me to come in to work at 4:30 this morning. I'll take it--just because I've only got two days scheduled this next week, and things are so slow around the casino, I truly believe that my job is hanging by a very thin thread right now... Anyhow, that's what's going on around here. If I make a bundle today, I might go play in another tourney this afternoon, looking to make a few bucks. If not, no biggie--I'll come home and spend the evening writing.

Besides, tomorrow (Sunday), I've got a seat in a $6000 free-roll down at Binion's anyways, and according to Paul, one of the tourney directors down there, they're expecting about 80-90 people to show up. So if they pay ten spots, I like my chances of picking up a few bucks. So basically my weekend will be taken up completely with either dealing or playing poker.

If I end up just getting crushed and busting out early, then you'll have more stuff to read. Otherwise, there may not be much posted around here until Monday morning.
