Up All Night, Waiting For #10

Finally--it's over!

I've been sitting here at my computer since about 7:00 pm, with one eye on the tv, and one eye on the laptop. It's now just past 3:30 in the morning and I can finally go to bed. What kept me up so late, you ask? Well, I was watching the online coverage of the World Series Main Event, and they played 15 hours on Monday getting from 27 players down to the final nine.

Of course it's a bunch of schmoes I've never heard of, once again, but it should be a fun final table to watch tomorrow night sometime in November. The ESPN coverage of this year's WSOP doesn't begin until next Tuesday, but the Main Event coverage doesn't begin until like October or so.

I kinda feel sorry for Dean Hamrick (the final table 'bubble boy'), but not too sorry--brothaman is collecting $591,869 for his efforts at the very moment that I'm typing this sentence.

But now that the 'November Nine' are set, I'm sure anyone who is remotely interested in high-stakes poker will get their fill of these guys between now and the final broadcast, four months hence.

So that was the extent of my Monday, pretty lame huh? I didn't work, didn't get called in, and I doubt I'll get called in today, either. And since things are so slow around the casino these days, it was nice to get a message from Falcon Rob yesterday indicating that the old apartment complex refunded our entire deposit, so I got an extra $175 coming my way this week.

Other than that, there ain't a damn thing going on in the World of Mikey. Must be time to get some sleep.
