Well, I'm glad I got all that extra sleep before my shift late on Tuesday night, but I sure didn't need it.
As soon as I got to the casino, just about the time I stepped onto the elevator from the parking garage, my phone was ringing. Yep, it was the floorman in the poker room. He'd intended on telling me to stay home, but since I was about 45 seconds away, I wandered in anyways. There was a four-handed game going with two very short stacks, so it didn't look like it was gonna go very long. I stuck around, just because a couple of my gals were in the game, and the other dealer said he'd go home and let me have whatever scraps I could scrounge from the table. I dealt two hands before the big stack broke the other two players and that was that. I don't think the other dealer had hit the exit before the game broke, so I made a whopping $2 in tips for the night. Woot!
The floorman and I hurried to close the room and count down all the banks and whatnot, so I was clocked in for a half-hour. Wide awake, with two bucks burning a hole in my pocket, I suggested that we roll over to Sierra Gold and have a beer.
Good thing we did, because as soon as we ordered our first round, I put ten bucks in a 10-cent triple-play machine and was dealt four nines--On the very first hand! Bam! Cash me out for $120. Drinks are on Mikey!
So that sure beat the hell out of working all night...
We hung out for an hour or so, ordered a pizza (half price in the middle of the night), and had a couple of beers. Not a bad way to spend the evening. But I'm home now, and wide awake, so I'll probably stay up for a few hours plowing through the stuff on the DVR and maybe doing a few chores I've neglected these past several days. Other than that, I don't have a damn thing to report.
Mikey out.
